The Bowel and the Brain – are connected: Gluten Sensitivity is one of the main culprits.

Hot Bowel

And gluten sensitivity is often the underlying cause of silent celiac an important GI problem receiving more attention in the literature. These two links are loaded with great info.

Just had a great conversation with Dr Tom O’Bryan outside of Chicago, one of the best teachers on the brain and bowel connection in the county. Actually it was more than a conversation, I recorded an interview with Tom for CorePsychPodcast.

Great information, good fun, and super references, really enjoyed interviewing Tom.  But, *due to technical difficulties* that program vaporized into the ethers of time.

Just think about these psych/brain difficulties and see if you know anyone with these problems:

  1. depression
  2. ADD/ADHD
  3. bipolar illness
  4. foggy brain
  5. adrenal fatigue
  6. chronic fatigue
  7. hypothyroidism
  8. anxiety… and that’s just a quick review.

Then think about these problems:

  1. stomach ache
  2. IBS
  3. constipation
  4. nausea
  5. loss of appetite
  6. refractory response to psych meds
  7. liver dysfunction
  8. food allergies
  9. hormone dysregulation: Estrogen Dominance…again just scratching the surface

Tom has agreed to return as a guest, and I promised him we wouldn’t chat until I get the recording situation straight.

But in the meantime if you are interested in an excellent 2 hr teaching review [with all the references from traditional literature - on DVD] of the Brain and Bowel connection, I encourage you to jump over here to Dr O’Bryan’s DVD.

If we don’t look we simply can’t see…
